An Engineer First
Arun’s career began in engineering labs, not leadership halls. At Indian Telephone Industry, he worked on India’s first digital telephone exchange — where precision mattered and failure had consequences.
At Motorola, he designed software for alpha-numeric pagers, gaining early exposure to global engineering standards and performance pressure.
Foundation Years (1993 – 1998)
Indian Telephone Industry Motorola
"Core engineering years that shaped a systems-thinking mindset, proving that every problem has a structural solution."
The Corporate Climb
Over the next two decades, Arun held leadership roles across Samsung, Lucent (Bell Labs), and Dell — spanning engineering, product management, marketing, and strategic alliances.
Outwardly, it looked like success. Internally, he observed a troubling pattern: brilliant people performing at elite levels, while quietly burning out.
“We were solving market problems while creating human ones.”
The Question That
Wouldn’t Go Away
Why were capable, successful people quietly exhausted?
Arun realized the issue wasn’t motivation or talent. It was internal architecture. Humans were being asked to perform on systems never designed for sustained wellbeing.
Work Today
Today, Arun works as a keynote speaker, excellence mentor, and transformation strategist — helping leaders and organizations redesign the way they think, work, and live.
Through his Engineering Happiness® programs, he has inspired peak-performance cultures across corporations, governments, academic institutions, national sports teams, and the Indian Army.
